The Eye Examination

Comprehensive Eye Examinations

Your eye exam will start with questions about your medical history and any vision problems you may be having.  Comprehensive eye examinations performed by one of the Eye Doctor’s Optical Outlets optometrists can lead to early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of eye diseases and other bodily disorders.  The eyes are a looking glass inside the body and a dilated examination can detect 30 systemic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure and tumors.  After your evaluation, corrective lenses may be prescribed and the possible treatment of disease with drugs will be given.

Eye Examinations For Children

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, one in four school aged children may have eye health issues. Vision impairment has been linked to poor academic performance at school. The American Optometric Association recommends infants receive their first exam before six months of age, at three and again before first grade. Regular eye exams should be every other year thereafter.
